Montreal-based artist, Roadsworth, or Peter Gibson, is a street artist who uses roads as his canvas. His work was triggered by activism, as he first began to paint bicycle symbols on streets throughout the city in order to protest for more bike paths. In this process he discovered an even larger cause within himself—an artistic motivation that led him to create a wide range of pieces that comment on certain issues in society or "the mundaneness of the urban landscape." He creates his works by modifying and adding to already existing elements on the streets, such as lines and markings on roads and shadows created by railings, to add unexpected visual fun to an otherwise very formalized setting.
