Rodarte Gets High School Students to Design Vans Sneakers to Win Cash

If you watch the news, it's pretty obvious that not all high schools are funded equally—especially the arts. Fashion brand Rodarte is doing its best to combat this budget-slimming tactic: letting the kids earn a chunk of change (for their school, of course). 

Partnering with Vans, Rodarte has started a contest that lets kids design a pair of sneakers, with the winner walking away with $50,000 for their school's art program. The submissions will be judged by the brand's designers, Kate and Laura Mulleavy. To kick things off, the sisters have designed their own pair of white Vans slip-ons, bedazzled in sequins.
