Ed Freeman's photographs may resemble scenes from a fictional movie set in an imagined location, but he's purposefully trying to blur the boundaries in "the gray area between realism and fantasy." Perhaps influenced by his earlier days as a musician and road manager on the last Beatles tour, his subjects include those that you may come across while driving on highways.

His series Desert Reality and Urban Reality consists of images that seem to be a hybrid between a painting and a photograph, as he blends photography and computer imagery. Photographs of Desert Reality capture abandoned buildings in the California desert, while those of Urban Reality depict scenes from LA. If you find yourself drawn to these fantastic settings, obtain a book copy of the Freeman's Desert Reality series.
