The giant egg laid by an extinct elephant bird auctioned by Christie's auction house was sold yesterday. As we told you before, the egg's value was estimated to be $45,000 however it was bought for more than double its estimate. The egg went for 66,675 pounds ($101,813) and was sold to an anonymous buyer over the phone following around 10 minutes of heated bidding.
