Polist artist Jerzy Ryszard “Jurry” Zieliński was one of the few from his nation who embraced the Pop Art style in the 1960s and '70s. His work carries radical messages through a simple but bold color palette of red, white, blue, and green that create abstract graphics depicting subjects open to interpretation. Although the mind-opening nature of Zieliński's work has resulted in its elimination from mainstream Polish art, from April 11 to May 4, a selection of his pieces will be available for viewing at Oko in the East Village. This will be the first time the artist's works are shown in the U.S., and leads up to an exhibition to open later this year at Luxembourg & Dayan in London.
