As part of a competition for the design of a new cultural center in Bergen, Norway, Cerejeira Fontes Architects has submitted a proposal featuring a spiraling structure with a circular central outdoor space. The project consists of a long, winding body of concrete that overlaps onto itself and encompasses a green space to be used for gathering or as a theater. Differences in elevation of the building's exterior allow for the structure's roof to be used as outdoor seating facing the amphitheater. The proposal for a cultural center in Gulatinget also offers maximum views of a neighboring sea from various points throughout the space.
