NYC get ready—the finest the Golden State has to offer is hitting Soho streets this week.California boasts some of America's most intriguing homegrown arts. From pin striping to black and grey tattooing, the scene has birthed an innumerable amount of talent pushing local vernacular into the national conversation.

Never has such a group of heavy-hitters from California been assembled to show at the same place, at the same time in New York City. — Luke Wessman

Co-curated by Bobby Ruiz and Luke Wessman, Left to Right: An Artistic Visit from the West includes the artwork of 30 tattoo artists, painters, pinstripers, and photographers (the iconic Estevan Oriol, for one). The show is as much a take-over—its filling the walls of NY Ink at 43 Wooster Street—as a statement of the West Coast's breadth of imaginative vision.

“Never has such a group of heavy-hitters from California been assembled to show at the same place, at the same time in New York City," says Wessman.  "But, this show is about more than art, it’s about friendship and unity, everyone coming together.”

Artists featured: Estevan Oriol, Risk, OG Abel, Chuey Quintanar, Sal Elias, Maxx 242, Franco Vescovi, Tim Hendricks, Carlos Torres, Steve Soto, Placaso, Gustavo Rimada, Johnny Quintana, Manuel Cisneros, The Deadend Brothers, Ben Grillo, Alex Garcia, Tattoo Tony, Luke Wessman, Big Checho, Flaks, D.A. Garcia, Latisha Wood, Mr. Rhythm, Jae Bueno, Brown, Morgwn Pennypacker, Boog, Carlos Macedo, Big Tiny, Tommy Montoya, Bobby Tribal, and “The Wooden Crosses.”

Left to Right opens on April 11, 2013, with an event running from 7:30 to 11:30 pm. Music by Aly Asha will soundtrack the party. To RSVP please email woosterartshow@gmail.com.
