A highlight of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's "Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity" exhibition is the realization of fashion imaging spanning many centuries before the present moment. Before photography developed into the digital, ubiquitous medium it is now, paintings were the preferred method of documenting oneself and one's ability to be fashionable or stylish.
When we visited the exhibition, we recognized the uncanny resemblance between many of these Impressionist paintings and today's street style photographs, in the poses, clothing, and even coloration. See if you agree with our installment of 20 Street Style Photographs That Resemble Impressionist Paintings and view the exhibition at the Met from now until May 27, 2013.
