Heartwalk is a new installation in Times Square by SITU Studio using only salvaged wooden planks from Hurricane Sandy's aftermath, collected from various boardwalks in New York and New Jersey. Located in a wide open public space, Heartwalk invites people to remember the shared experience of the hurricane, and to spread love by enjoying the display together. The Heartwalk website will collectively display photos taken at the site between February 12 and March 8, as users can #HEARTWALKTSQ on Instagram to submit photos. The Heartwalk project is the winner of the fifth annual Times Square Valentine's Day Heart Design Competition.
