And yet it is becoming increasingly more frequent for style-conscious dudes, in cities and the countryside, to shop online. Whether it's the ease of clicking your way into a new wardrobe or being deathly afraid of human interaction, more and more of our generation are finding solace in e-commerce.

The only thing keeping Anthem Store from being one of the best online Japanese shops is the fact that it's out of the UK. Carrying Japanese greats like 45RPM, Kapital, and Anonymous Ism, the store gives you the exclusivity you're craving to take a peek, and then before you know it you're clicking through the whole damn site as you get a bask in glorious goods from Dries Van Noten, Folk and Ten C. If you didn't know about this webshop already, we're sorry we've brought it to your attention. You will never leave.

Badowers, the place where Todd Snyder honed his craft, has been a well-known, "small-town Midwestern" haberdashery for years and years. But with a  brand list boasting names Gant Rugger, Alden, Apolis and Baldwin and online exclusives with LBM 1911 and Barbour, the store from Des Moines, Iowa, has a new webshop that takes the "small-town Midwestern" perception and flips it on it's un-educated head. Plus, who doesn't want to shop at a store that once dared to fire shots at Mark McNairy?

Indigo & Cotton arrived in the menswear world without a dramatic entrance or aggressive marketing, indicative of their Southern grace and manners. We knew about their beautiful blog, but now they're offering incredible goods from Engineered Garments, Gitman Vintage, Crescent Down Works and Post O'Alls, since July. With typical Charleston, SC charm, and enticing sales here and there, this is a webshop that's about that easy living like any good southern gentleman should be.

Sometimes, opening up a webshop just sort of happens. While VFILES is best known as the amazing fashion and street culture social media platform, it turns out that carrying some gear for people to holler at wasn't such a bad idea. French Garment Cleaners sought to revamp the old Stuart & Wright brick and mortar shop and provide an online presence that would invigorate our sartorial senses, even though the neon sign bearing their name has been there since the '60s. While the online shop isn't technically new, it's new name does bring an overall cleaner aesthetic with some European and Japanese flair and a fire brand arsenal that includes Our Legacy, Gloverall and South 2 West 8.

You may have heard of stylist-turned-store owner Elyse Walker from her eponymous boutique in LA, which focuses on high-end womenswear. This past year, she went virtual and teamed up with Revolve Clothing to open the e-commerce juggernaut, Forward. Utilizing the same mindset as her boutique, Forward offers womens and menswear with a high-end flair that includes Rick Owens, Maison Martin Margiela, Robert Geller and the like. With her boutique quadrupling since it's opening in 1999, we'd say she has a knack for this biz.

When news arrived that Uniqlo was finally going to be doing e-commerce in the states, non-New Yorkers rejoiced while proxy companies shook their fists with ire.
