During a trip to Japan, photographer Martin Rietze had the ability to catch Sakurajima Valcano in southern Kyushu as it was acting all ratchet. It spewed smoke, fire, and lava bombs while a cloud made lightning above. Dude's got some balls. However, his fearlessness paid off when his images landed in the top photo a feature on NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day.
