Four illustrations by Daniel Stolle were published in the German Stern magazine depicting a lone figure suffering from depression. Presented among modern day troubles like being surrounded by a plethora of digital devices, feeling attached, or being separated from a large active group, the depressed man represents feelings of alienation and despair. The drawings reflect a dark atmosphere through monochromatic shapes, while adding a small element of color in each frame, representing a counter-opposing object of hope.
