Josh Reed is a fan of the tried-and-true baseball cap. It's a style staple that guys have been wearing wtih everything from T-shirts and jeans to sportcoats and topcoats. Yet, while there's nothing wrong with showing support for the home team, Reed wanted to take the hat to a more luxurious level. So he put his thinking cap on, and started Gents.

The hats are made from high-quality fabrics and embroidered with minimal designs. The brand's upscale take on the baseball cap resulted in an ad campaign inspired by the seductive Helmut Newton ads of old. To get a more in-depth perspective on Gents (just in time for their sale), the guys at Gilt MANual interviewed founder Josh Reed to find out how working for brands like Calvin Klein influenced him, and whether or not a guy can wear a cap with a tux.
