To be honest, a lot of the stereotypes about fashion magazines come from the legend of Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. The "Devil" herself, who has been editor with the publication for 25 years this summer, will now take on a new role at Condé Nast: artistic director, The New York Times reports.

The position came upon when 85-year-old S.I. Newhouse Jr. relinquished his daily involvement with the publishing company, and took a position managing Advance Publications.

The 63-year-old editor could possibly take over Newhouse's old position of choosing the covers for publications such as Vanity Fair, GQ, Glamour, and Architectural Digest.

With publications stripping down to the bare minimum, and focusing solely on news, Condé Nast chief executive, Robert Townsend, has faith in Wintour to keep the publications fun and hip. “Without this statement,” Townsend replied of Wintour's new job, “I fear we could end up looking more like Time Inc. I don’t want to look like a gray-suited business.”
