The Oscar Pistorius murder case has caught the attention of the media, and Nike as well. The Swoosh—who has sponsored the runner since 2007— has suspended the Blade Runner from his current contract in light of the allegations that he murdered his girlfriend, The Washington Postreports.
“We believe Oscar Pistorius should be afforded due process,” Nike posted on its website, “and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.”
However, Pistorius has been awarded bail, so it looks like he will need to find some new gear while he awaits trial.
