Gavin Brown is a 47-year-old Melbourne-born artist who makes paintings that are complicated. He favors loose strokes that makes his works almost look like graffiti. People and places appear as vivid multicolor images, however there is something noticeably dark in his aesthetic. People in particular are described through his brush as sinister or depressed, standing in opposition with his color schemes. The artist has had success in fashion, film, and many other avenues of art and design, but his main focus will always be painting.
