The Colorfully Tiled Children's Center in Valencia, Spain Motivates Growth and Learning

Promoting an effective learning environment.

The Innovation Centre for Children in Valencia, Spain is a complex of colorful rounded structures. Architect Ana Garcia Sala of Foursquare Arquitectos worked with M2 distribución and specialists at Natucer to design colorful ceramic tile facades for an educational center for children. The circular spaces were designed to promote sociability and interaction, while the bold tiling acts as visual stimulants for creativity and exploration. New methods of glazing and finishing were used in completing the tiled surfaces of the buildings' exteriors. Sustainable technology was also incorporated into the structures, with installations of solar panels and floors that make use of geothermal energy.
