Acoustic levitation is a term describing the process of counteracting the pull of gravity by using standing waves. The Ksana Institute is a nonprofit organization currently exploring the use of sound to cause objects or even people to float in the air. The institute says they have managed to achieve successive periods of acoustic levitation through a vocal discharge and they hope to further explore more sonic capabilities. Check out the video with Kayalight Studios showing their research in action.
