"Unpeels like an onion." Not exactly a typical description of a building. However, Stuggart Library by Yi Architects unfolds and opens from an austere concrete-and-glass facade to reveal a brilliant, bright reading room. The center itself is an atrium, with spiraling circulation route around it, that fills quickly with natural light and features quiet little retreats. The building took 12 years to finish, all the time used to perfect the idea.
Sounds like the perfect place to fight a hangover and start the year with fresh knowledge.
