Brazilian artist Sandra Cinto completed an incredible mural and installation at the Seattle Art Museum titled Encontro das Águas. Inspired by iconic artworks occurring in the ocean throughout art history, such as Hokusai's The Great Wave and Géricault's The Raft of the Medusa, Cinto's work is meant to comment on the way boats have symbolized survival.
Visit the piece in-person through October 20, 2013 and watch a time-lapse of its construction here.
