NASA's advanced food technology project is well known for providing astronauts with the nutrition and sustenance needed during flight within the constraints of air pressure and space limitations. Through freeze drying and lots of testing, they've perfected a system of food that's amusing to us on Earth but vital to those in space. They've shared photographs of the various forms their packaging design has taken over the years, which appears to have become more gourmet and sophisticated as time has gone on.
