Painter Martin McGinn's Volume 1 series works in a self-reflexive manner; essentially, his pieces are art about art. For a show at The Piper Gallery in London, McGinn is showing painterly representations of art history books in the form of still-lifes. They range from artist-specific texts on Warhol and Rothko to movement-specific texts on Bauhaus and Cubism. Visit the exhibition from now through February 8 to see how one artist examines the present through the past.
