James McNabb's Wooden Wheel Sculpture Examines City Life

His series continues with a striking new addition.

Many design objects and sculptures are great to marvel at online, but we could never imagine them in our homes. Maybe James McNabb's "Wheel" is such a piece, but its meaning shouldn't go overlooked. Meant to explore city life, McNabb specifically says, "Inspired by wooden wagon wheels, this piece references the pilgrimage many make from the countryside to the city, in search of fortune and fame." The remaining pieces in his "City Series" do the same, giving us an alternate way to think of urbanity and diaspora. Watch a making of video about "Wheel" here.
