Pol Úbeda Hervàs realized something very profound before he embarked on his photography series I'm Not There. He said, "I don’t recognize myself any more." To articulate this emotion, he photographed his shadow in various locations, removing his actual body from them. As you can see in each frame, he leaves his shoes, indicating the lingering humanity of the subject. It's dark, but it's meaningful.
