Just like any company, brand, or institution, the University of California, which is comprised of 10 campuses in the state, wanted a new logo and identity. Upon presenting their new design, students, teachers, and people with taste were enraged. So far, over 50,000 people have signed an online petition asking the UC to retract the new design. They have even gotten California's Lieutenant Governor involved. The petition reads, "The newly designed monogram of the University of California, while attempting to be modern, loses the prestige and elegance of the current seal." Sadly, we agree.
