Massive Porcelain Christmas Tree Crafted from Thousands of Plates & Mugs

Creative tree alternative that got the entire community involved.

Residents of the Hasselt, Belgium were recently treated to the annual holiday lighting of their city's Christmas tree. Instead of chopping down some helpless Doulgas Fir, the locals opted for something out of the ordinary. The Hasselt townspeople really went outside of the box and assembled this porcelain version from 5,000 individual table items like plates and mugs. Standing at a staggering 30 ft tall, hit the thumbs for a closer look at this recent unveiling in Belgium.
