Jeff Koons is the latest artist tapped by Château Mouton Rothschild to design a wine label for their 2010 Pauillac first growth. Previously, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon, and Salvador Dalí designed labels for the company's wines. The Drinks Business reports that Koons "works over a Pompeii fresco of the Birth of Venus with a silver line drawing of a ship sailing under a bright sun.” Additionally, the wine is made of “small, rich, naturally concentrated grapes both high in color and natural acidity, with length, elegance and harmony being the hallmarks of the vintage.” Seems like the visual matches the expected quality of the wine.
