19th-Century Paintings Recreated on Human Flesh

Striking works painted on the body.

"Museum Anatomy" is a series of photographs captured by Texas-based artists Chadwich Gray and Laura Spector. The two artists recently contacted a series of museums to request special permission to photograph a collection of 19th-century paintings, with the intent of recreating the works onto the human body. Each painting took the artists an estimated 8-15 hours to complete. The resulting imagery showcase a unification of antiquity, technology and culture.
