Zaha Hadid Don't Stop! Wins Japan National Stadium Competition

The 2019 Rugby World Cup just got really cool.

Zaha Hadid stays on the grind. We swooned when the Eli & Edythe Broad Museum was revealed in October. We feel the same way today, with news of Hadid's latest, greatest project.

The London-based architect has won a competition to design Japan's new National Stadium—future host venue for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Selected by Tadao Ando and the Japan Sports Council, Hadid beat out heavyweight firm SANAA and Japanese architect Toyo Ito for the commission.

The stadium will be completed in 2018.
