When Fly or Die first came out, Pharrell established himself not only as a streetwear icon, but a sex symbol to his countless female fans. Building on that, N.E.R.D.'s sophomore album was a conscious effort to brand him and the band. Pharrell was nary seen with a shirt on, but still kept it fresh with BAPE shoes, camo shorts, and numerous tattoos—which have since been removed.
