Justin Bieber was recently the recipient of Canada's Diamond Jubilee Medal, an award that honors significant achievements and contributions from Canadians. This is cool and all, except that Bieber decided to wear engineer overalls (with one trap undone) as the award was presented by the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper. The media seems to think the wardrobe choice was disrespectful.

Bieber responded to critics, stating:

"The pic of me and the Prime Minister was taken in a room in the arena where I was performing that day. I walked straight from my meet-and-greet to him, if you expect me to have a change of clothes let alone a suit at that specific time, that's crazy. It wasn't like I was going into his environment, we were at a hockey arena. Wow am I ever white trash."

What do you think of Bieber's style faux-pas? Was it inappropriate for the occasion? Or was it awesome because the Prime Minister let it slide?
