J.Crew Expands Global Market With a New London Store

Good news UK readers.

UK fans of affordable menswear can now enjoy a brick-and-mortar experience, as J.Crew is slated to open up shop in London late next year. J.Crew has selected the 17,000-square-foot retail space left vacant by Burberry on Regent Street to launch its UK flagship store. This is the first non-North American store for the New York-based brand, and could be a sign of further expansion. "We look at Regent Street the same way we look at stores on Fifth or Madison Avenue, or North Michigan Avenue in Chicago," Mickey Drexler, CEO, says. "I would imagine, if you can't make it there, you can't make it anywhere," adds Drexler. While already carrying a handful of British-based brands (Barbour, Thomas Mason, London Undercover), we expect J.Crew to make a splash across the pond.
