Dark and Deadpan: Pop in TV and Movies
Location: The Whitney Museum
Dates: November 15, 2012 -
Dark and Deadpan: Pop in TV and Movies brings together rarely seen films, advertisements, and political campaign messages that reflect the extravagant yet deadpan excess of Pop. As a whole, the exhibit explores excitement, anxiety, and desire as influenced by film and television, bringing together works such as Andy Warhol’s commercial for Schrafft’s restaurants to Sherman Price’s film The Imp-Probable Mr. Weegee.
