Yesterday we posted an alarming GIF of Hurricane Sandy approaching the East Coast with news of the MTA shutting down. Following the 10/28 7 p.m. closure of trains at Penn and Grand Central Stations, the MTA posted these unsettling images on their Flickr to show how vacant these spaces look without bustling New Yorkers.

This is the second time in history that the MTA has been ordered to stop running. The first time was last year for Hurricane Irene. Hopefully everyone is staying safe and dry throughout the East Coast.
