After years of convincing stylish dudes everywhere that flat front trousers are good and pleats are bad, designers are now flipping the switch. Pleated pants were everywhere on the runway during the spring/summer 2013 fashions shows last month. The new crop of pants aren't like the wide-legged joints your pops rocked back in the day, but pleats (to us) are still sketchy territory.

Designers from Burberry Prorsum, Calvin Klein, Dries Van Noten, and Gucci have made pleated pants slimmer with more discreet details. We're used to seeing new twists on stale "classics" every season, so this change was bound to happen. Now the hard part is getting all the flat front fans to drink the pleated Kool Aid. Are you ready to make the switch?
