Frank Furness put a stamp on Philadelphia. From 1878 to 1906, the architect designed 200 commissions and many iconic bank buildings.

Much like Furness, street artists put their stamp on the urban environment. This weekend at Art in the Age, mediums mix when the Streets Dept. opens FURNESSADELPHIA. On site installations will find a number of artists recreating Furness' work and establishing a connection between graffiti and architecture in unprecedented ways.

Check out the thumbs for a preview of the street level work honoring Furness that has already been installed.

FURNESSADELPHIA kicks off with an opening party on October 5, 2012.
