Inflatable metal? Yes, this is a real thing. It's also the main element to Israeli designer Moron Barmaper's Puff, a flat pack DIY stool built from three wooden legs and a blow up metal disk.

While the design isn't pioneering—inflatable furniture was invented a decade ago by Polish architect Oskar Zieta—Barmaper's idea does bring the technology into wider usage. Once the metal disk is blow up, the legs become secured and stabilized. The stool matches the designer's previous experiments in metal (including a table), but again the applications are broader. This is the kind of thing we'd happily scoop at Urban Outfitters.
