Describing Zio Ziegler's style isn't easy. The painter's artist statement is rather obtuse, and he's caught in a fight between instinct and classical training. However, this attempt at balance results in strong, gestural figures (both animal and human) and neatly fill space and contain ample nuanced elements allowing for both quick overview and close looking.
Take a look at Ziegler's recent works from L.A. and San Francisco.
