Fast Company Design went to the Herman Miller factories in Zeeland, Michigan to create a video documenting the production of the world-famous Lounge Chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956. They learned that the chair continues to be manufactured the way it was 65 years ago, with only subtle, yet notable improvements. While the leather is now cut by a computer-guided machine, humans still oversee the process to make sure the chairs are up to par.
