Working in various mediums, emerging artist Sam Rodriguez investigates human identity. His most recent works, collected in the upcoming show FRACTIONS, involve dissections of the human face in an effort to explore the idea of people as walking "melting pots." With ethnicity as the obvious characteristic in each, Rodriguez pushes viewers to question the make-up of personal style and cultural influence.

Rodriguez has previously completed several high profile public art fixtures, including installations at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library in San Jose, CA, and the Los Angeles County Metro Authority. He has shown at Anno Domini, Oakland Museum Of Art, and Known Gallery. FRACTIONS is Rodriguez's first exhibition at Loft In Space.

FRACTIONS opens on September 20 and runs through October 18, 2012.
