The McDonald's franchise in New Hyde Park is like the McMansion of fast food restaurants. Back in 1985, McDonald's purchased an 18th century Georgian estate and originally had plans to scrap the structure for an entirely new building design. Thanks to protest from the locals of this quaint Long Island town, McDonald's opted to preserve the mansion and restore it to better than new. At an incredible 200-years-old, hit the thumbs for a closer look at this historical manor.
