We've been inundated with "old time" barbershops since the stock market crash of 2008. While reflection on the past in art and design is a fine thing, some forward looking is also always appreciated. Enter Ard Hoksbergen. The independent architect has managed a fresh approach to a traditional space with this clean looking barber shop in Amsterdam. Note the web of copper pipes. They look cool. Better still, they serve a purpose. Some carry electricity, other water. The aim was to create a warm and inviting space. Achieved.
