New York City apartments are never cheap. In fact, even with the recession and state of the economy, searching for a reasonably priced apartment in Manhattan is just not easy. Don't believe us? Just the other day the New York based brokerage firm, Olshan Realty, reported that sales of high-end condos rose 42 percent this summer and 129 apartments with an average price of $7.5 million were sold in Manhattan itself.
A price tag of $7.5 million may seem steep until you check out this list of some of the most expensive priced houses on the market at the moment. With the exception of one penthouse suite in London, nine out of 10 of the apartments on this list are located above Midtown in New York City. Even on top of these heavy sale prices, living in a $100 million apartment means more taxes, higher bills, and even greater mortgage rates-this must mean "living large."
