Ori Gersht draws inspiriting from historic sources, revisiting 19th-century landscapes and more with poetic digital reconfigurations. "Falling Bird" is just one example, and a fine example of how Gersht transforms what appears to be an 18th-century painting of a dead bird into a dynamic piece of contemporary video art.
Gersht's exhibition, History Repeating, is now on view through January 6, 2013 at the MFA Boston.
