The Woolworth building has earned many titles over its 99 year lifespan: world's tallest building, the "cathedral of commerce," New York icon, and now it will add one more — home. In a $68 million deal, which closed last week, the top floors of the neo-gothic skyscraper were sold to a developer who plans to create 40 luxury condos in the space, complete with a penthouse that occupies the copper cupola. Once complete, the condos will be among the highest in the city, with commanding views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. Get ready to move on up. [NYTimes]
