While You Were Sleeping was started by Roger Gastman when he was just 19. At the time, Gastman was running a graffiti supply company and his magazine could easily be described as a sort of Big Brother for the graffiti set. Of course, that is reductive, but you should get the idea. Gastman's gone on to become a major force in the art world, curating big shows and producing comprehensive history books.
