Jayson Musson is better known to many as Hennessy Youngman. In his alter ego guise, Musson brilliantly dissects the art world in street slang satire. His own art similarly bridges gaps between high concept and vernacular style.

In his new exhibition, Halcyon Days, Musson explores the similarity between Australia's famous Coogi sweater and gestural abstraction. The sweaters at once remind us of Bill Cosby and Biggie, but for Musson also remind of Pollock. As such, Musson has "reversed engineered" the product and given it artistic life in the form of larger paintings.

Musson's also just released this print.

On view through August 17, 2012.
