FIFA has just approved the use of the world's first "intelligent football". Hoping to end the discussion about how referees can assess whether the ball has crossed the goal line, the Select iBall was designed with copper bands that communicates directly with officiators in real time. The iBall relays information through a panel of antennas mounted to the goal frame. Once the ball has passed the goal line, signals are sent to the referee's wristwatch, and the ref can call it a goal. Continue below to catch a detailed clip at how the Select iBall really works.
