Rietveld Landscape + Atelier de Lyon have taken a bunker in Amsterdam and split it open. The bunker, which was used to protect towns from 1815 to 1940 by inducing flooding, is now a serene spot to pass through, see the tiny living quarters within, and then access the flooded area beyond. The short trip through the bunker into the flooded area and natural reserves beyond is meant to prompt reflection upon why that area is flooded--not because it existed there naturally, but because it was characteristic of times of war.
