Los Angeles-based painter Wayne White has an ongoing "Word paintings" project that combines the old and the new. White buys traditional landscape lithographs from thrift stores and adds phrases in 3D letters to make kitsch artworks with tongue-in-cheek humor.
A documentary about White's life, Beauty Is Embarrassing, premiered at this year's SXSW. Donate to the Kickstarter created to get the film in more theaters. [Designmilk]
